What About Mending? | SIR ALBERT COOKE HOME
By Mūthoni Mwangi and Rosie Olang’
Thinking with radical traditions of quilting that incorporate personal and communal histories, layering, reparative gestures, and intergenerational knowledge systems and memories, Mūthoni Mwangi and Rosie Olang’ Odhiambo will facilitate a zine-making workshop and assemblage of an improvisational paper quilt for the KLA Art Festival 2024.
Rosie Olang’ Odhiambo is a curator, and bookmaker based in Nairobi, Kenya. She is exploring workshops, zines, and artist’s books as formats to play across various disciplines engaging with decolonial, queer, feminist, and black radical traditions. Her artistic and curatorial approach aims to cultivate generative collaborative processes, centering local context and deep research, thoughtfully deployed to develop exhibitions, publications, and programming that is accessible, sustainable, ambitious, and liberatory.
