Sandra Wauye is a self-taught artist primarily living and working in Mombasa, Kenya. In 2023 she was a resident at 32° East, she is currently doing a research program with Ujuzi Mentorship, run by Untethered Magic and NCAI. Sandra is an oil painter and a ceramics artist whose works mainly explore the role of community and cultural practices in healing especially during modern times. At the core of it all, she’s exploring a means through which people deal with grief and trauma. These stories are drawn from her  personal experiences and the stories of people closest to her.
